Where to stay?
Well, my biggest passion is hidden-quite-beautiful-hippie-laid-back beaches.
For beginners unfortunately in Bali there's nothing like that, but, my favorite beginners spot in Bali is Canggu (old man's batu bolong) it’s a beautiful black sand beach and though its a bit western, the vibe is really cool.
Bingin can be alright for some beginners on high tide. But still, you need to have some experience, and consult with someone before you puddle out.
Medewi apparently is a long-mellow-left hander suitable for all levels.
For the pro's and intermediate I would definitely recommend about Balangan and Bingin. More remote (as bali can get), extremely beautiful laid back and the surf is AWESOME!
In canggu there's spots for all surfers, so if you go with a partner which is not your level, it will probably be the best, check out CANGGU SURF SPOTS.
