How Soul, a Silent Retreat was Born
In 2014, after a surf injury, I began experiencing PTSD panic attacks — in the water, underwater while diving, and even on land on the way to surf.
It took years to understand what I was experiencing, and why.
I tried many methods to find relief — but nothing truly reached the root.
Fear began taking over larger parts of my life, and I started to feel lost.
Everything changed when I sat my first Vipassana course.
In just ten days, something clicked. I finally understood how my subconscious mind and body were connected — and how the patterns driving my panic were trying to protect me, but were no longer serving me.
That course, along with an incredible Cranio-Sacral session from one of my teachers, created a shift I didn’t expect.— The panic attacks stopped. The fear dissolved.
And for the first time in years, I felt free.
But more than that — I felt empowered.
Not just reacting to life, but flowing with it.
Now, when triggers arise, I have the tools to meet them with clarity, calm, and ownership.
Today, the ocean — the place that once triggered so much fear — is my most healing space.
I can be in it, held by it, and feel completely at peace.
Soul was born from this transformation — from a deep desire to share the practices that brought me home to myself.

As this technique transformed my life, I felt a deep call to pass it on.
I carefully curated the modalities I practice and trust to be most supportive alongside Vipassana Meditation — choosing to share them in a small, intimate, and deeply nurtured space.
After hosting the first retreat in 2022, I saw just how powerful this combination truly is.
I knew, with full clarity, that this was my calling in this lifetime.
From the beginning, I held a strong inner knowing of the three sacred places I wanted to bring this work to — choosing locations with deep care, where the energy of the land, the retreat space, the people, and the culture all support the depth of the practice.
I offer a feminine approach to the traditional teachings of the Buddha,
weaving in hands-on Biodynamic Cranio-Sacral Therapy and Sound Massage —
to support you in learning through stillness and movement,
not just on a philosophical level, but through embodied experience —
in some of the most breathtaking places on Earth.

I’ve been practicing yoga and meditation since 2011, and started teaching in 2016. In 2022, I created Soul, a Silent Retreat, as a deeply personal response to what transformed my own life.
Since then, I’ve hosted retreats, workshops, classes, and private sessions around the world, guiding hundreds of people back to their own inner wisdom.
My path has been shaped by years of study and immersion — including multiple Vipassana courses and teacher trainings in asana, pranayama, and yoga philosophy with teachers like Maty Ezraty, Matthew Sweeney, AG & Indra Mohan, Mark Robberds, and beloved Israeli teachers including Shirley Caspi, Sharon Kanor, Nancy Gardush, Galia Kornfeld, Eden Gershon, and Noga Weiss.
I’m also trained in Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Peter Hess Sound Massage, and Sound Bath facilitation — which you’ll get to experience throughout this retreat journey.

Testimonials

"I attended my first silent retreat with Amber after attending many silent retreats, mostly Vipassana retreats. My experience with Amber was one that was deeply nurturing and restorative.
I became aware that what Amber offers, in her retreats is the magical feminine essence that creates a safe and sacred place to go deep into the depths of your subconscious Saṅkhāras, while allowing for other ways to move energy, emotions and behaviours with beautiful Hatha style yoga, qi gong and restorative yoga featuring her divine sound healing and intuitive Craniosacral therapy.
One of my favourite parts of Soul - a silent retreat are Amber’s philosophy talks - her insights, her ability to breakdown the Vipassana meditation technique in a way that is through her depth of experience and faith, her passion for exploring the astrological forecast at the time of your retreat is just something very special.
Amber’s wisdom, integrity and ability to hold space is palpable. Her retreats are carefully curated in special places of nature and attending will be one of the most spiritually significant landmarks for your journey inwards, in a way that will feel safe, held and like, OMG can’t wait to attend my next one.
Thank you Amber, you are truly gifted at what you share into the universe and beyond <3"

"Phone detox; delicious healthy food; rising with the sun, to the deep reverberating sound of a gong; meditation classes; yoga classes incorporating sound and cranial sacral therapies; nature immersion; philosophy talks amongst boulders and tall trees; more meditation and yoga and then getting substantial sleep. Days of this, until one morning it just feels natural and nurturing to wake with the sun, to the call of the gong, to sit together,in quiet meditation and comfort.
Silence in a group is uncomfortable....at first
An hour of meditation is uncomfortable....at first
Thankyou Amber for the opportunity to truly realise how much my distractions rob me of seeing my life through quiet, unaffected, childlike clarity. I have found the time again to enjoy what I actually want to be doing and to draw myself to presence. It is a constant work but I have remembered that I can do it and you have offered me the skills to reset.
Thankyou for holding that space for us all."

"Amber, my beautiful friend & teacher,
Created the most soul filling, transformational experience for me and 12 other women and 1 man in the most delicious setting in Denmark.
She guided us through a 4 night silence retreat and I came out of it feeling anew. Her knowledge & wisdom is inspiring and learning from her over the past few years has been invaluable. I'm looking forward to participating in another one soon."

I recently completed Amber’s 7-night Vipassana retreat in Bali, and it was an extraordinary experience. Amber created a sacred and serene space for us to disconnect from the noise of life, allowing us to embark on a profound journey of inner discovery.
This retreat was perfectly aligned with the energies of the New Astrological Year, the Equinox, and Eclipse Season, providing an ideal time to connect with mother nature and listen to my inner soul’s voice. Amber guided us with compassion and clarity through meditation, soft asana, pranayama, and yin yoga practices, helping us deepen our self-love, breath awareness, and inner peace. Throughout the retreat, we were also enriched by Cranio-Sacral Therapy and Sound healing, which deepened the healing experience and helped release any body trauma and conditioning. The retreat was completely offline and in silence, which allowed for the space to truly listen to our hearts and release the patterns that no longer served us.
The beautiful mountain resort, Bali Eco Stay - was a slice of heaven, being surrounded by waterfalls, jungle, culture, rice fields, and towering mountains. It was the perfect setting for reflection and nourishment for all the senses. Amber’s thoughtful curation of the retreat, paired with the natural beauty of Bali, created the ideal environment for personal transformation.
This retreat is a true gift to anyone looking to deepen their spiritual practice, release the past, and go within and reconnect with their true essence. If you feel the call to listen to your inner self, this is the space to do so. I highly recommend Amber’s retreat to anyone on the path of self-discovery.
Thank you again, Amber, for a beautiful journey together xox

A Testimonial from Luminate, a Full Moon Event for Women
"Trying to gather some thoughts and feelings about a wonderful yoga journey in which I’ve embarked myself last year with Amber.
I’ll start by mentioning how beautifully harmonious the place and ambience were set up, from the beginning of the journey I felt welcomed, at home and peace with myself and the women practicing next to me.
We started with a Qi Gong practice followed by a nutritious chat about the astrological moment we were living which already helped opening up myself and creating a clear intention for the practice and meditation, we continued by slow movements as we went through the calm summer evening and it all just accompanied perfectly to open up myself into deeper thoughts and questioning old beliefs. As we dived deeper into a meditative state, following the sound healing vibrations, I had one of the biggest awakenings of my life, had a strong connection with my inner guide and always felt loved and supported.
I guess after that practice, I had to go through a couple of weeks of journaling to understand what the practice and meditation were showing me, but always had that evening near my heart, as it was the first awakening moment that was showing me the path for big changes in my life.
Amber thanks for the love, the connection and the support.
Cannot recommend the Luminate journey and the retreats enough. Just a little recommendation, come with an open heart and be ready to surrender, as big movements happen on its own when we allow it to speak through us."

FAQ
What is Asana?
Asana means "pose" — it refers to movement-based practices. In this retreat, we focus on meditation, but incorporate gentle movement to help circulate Qi (energy) in the body and support long sits. It’s also a way to cultivate awareness of sensation while in motion.
You'll learn simple movements you can take home with you.
What is Pranayama?
Pranayama is the practice of breathwork — ancient, powerful techniques that help calm the mind and deepen meditation. Especially beneficial for busy minds. You'll learn a few practices to take home and continue on your own.
Do I need any experience in yoga or meditation or the above?
Not at all. No prior experience is needed in Asana, Meditation, Pranayama, or Yin Yoga. You’ll be guided throughout, and you're always welcome to approach Amber for support if anything feels unclear or challenging.
What is Nobel Silence?
Noble Silence is a beautiful permission to turn inward.
As Sister Chân Diệu Nghiêm writes in this beautiful article “Noble Silence doesn’t mean we’re not allowed to talk. It means we don’t have to.”
It’s a gentle invitation to rest from external communication — no talking, signals, eye contact, or notes. No phones or internet.
Practising restraint (or inwards drawing) of the senses in this way provides an essential foundation for the powerful inner work which a meditation retreat facilitates.
How long do we stay in Noble Silence?
Noble Silence begins on the first evening (after 5pm) and ends on the final morning.
For 7-night retreats, we break Noble Silence the night before departure.
Can I ask questions? What if I have a problem?
Absolutely. You’re always welcome to ask Amber anything — during breaks, before, or after a session.
Is Amber the only teacher?
Yes, Amber will guide all sessions and be your point of contact for any questions, reflections, or support throughout the retreat.
Can I drink coffee through the retreat?
Yes, coffee is available!
Do I need any of my own props? or a meditation cushion?
No need. Bali Eco Stay provides all mats and props.
That said, if you prefer your own, you’re more than welcome to bring them.
If I booked a shared room can I still be on a waiting list for a private room?
Yes, absolutely. Just note it in your booking form or send an email to request the upgrade.
What if I need a ride?
Bali Eco Stay offers a transport service. You can contact them directly to arrange a safe, reliable driver to pick you up from the airport or wherever you're arriving from.
Can I read during the retreat?
While it may seem nourishing to read during a retreat, we gently ask you not to bring any books.
This space is intentionally held to remove all distractions — even the ones that feel "good for us" — so that your attention can turn inward, uninterrupted.
In practices like Vipassana, we remove external input (including reading) to fully meet what is present within.
Reading can act as a subtle escape — keeping the mind active, focused outward, and away from the deeper layers of sensation, emotion, and subconscious material that are waiting to be seen.
This retreat is an invitation to sit with yourself completely — to soften into silence, and to uncover clarity, insight, and healing that can only emerge in stillness.
Will there be WiFi? Can I check my phone?
There is WiFi at the venue, but you won’t have access to your phone during the retreat.
You’ll hand it in on the first evening and receive it back on the final morning.
This intentional screen detox is a powerful part of the retreat.
By stepping away from digital distractions, you create space to go deeper into stillness, clarity, and insight — allowing the nervous system to settle, and the mind to truly rest.
You’re welcome to share our contact details with loved ones in advance, so you can fully switch off knowing you’re still reachable in case of emergency.
