A gentle practice to open and release our hips.

Opening our hips towards splits - Hanuman Asana.

There are plenty of modifications and we can use as many props as we like, if you don't have Yoga props you can sub with what you have at home - big books instead of blocks or cushions instead of bolsters.

Modifications

You will see the modifications in the top right corner of the video in most poses (see example in images gallery here).

You can skip poses, and the split at the end completely and still enjoy the practice.

A bit about Yin Yoga

In Yin yoga we are seeking the edge of range of movement and then aspiring to let go in that space, staying in poses for about 3-5 minutes. Make sure you are not stepping into any sharp shooting pain, but see if you can surrender to the space of discomfort and see how the body and deeper tissues along with the mind, starting to melt.

At any point feel free to change your posture or find any other pose/ stretch that gives your body and mind what they need. Enjoy this time just for yourself.

 

Props

For this practice you would need your mat and 2 blocks and / bolster,

If you have all props - the more the better :)

(blankets pillows or anything else that can support and nourish you) you can also sub with cushions and big books.
